327CFS@ Gateway- The Gallatin River is coming into good form, most of the ice has cleared up, but it may still be frozen above BigSky. Taylor's Fork isn't pumping mud yet! Midges will be the only hatch still with colder water. Nymphing the depths is a good bet. In the next few weeks the rainbows will begin getting more active before spawning.

298 CFS @ Gateway - The Gallatin River has been fishing okay to start the new year. Most of the fish have been caught nymphing with a big stonefly trailed by a zebra midge or egg. The valley has been the most productive as it see's more sunlight then the canyon. Still fish the middle of the day to avoid any slush.

Recommended Flies:

Rubber Legs #8-10
Delekta Bug DK Chocolate #8
YUk Bug Brown #6
